Pathologic Jaundice in the neonate is dangerous and results in brain damage or death if not treated promptly and appropriately. Our diagnostic facilities for the severity of jaundice and determining its cause enable us to do this. Phototherapy machines using special light rays that breakdown the yellow pigment (Bilirubin) that has accumulated in the body are available for inpatient treatment of moderate jaundice.
In severe cases of neonatal jaundice an exchange blood transfusion is carried out in our unit by a specialized team.
